Junior Technologist at GNAR Inc.
GNAR INC. is a small building design company that incorporates sustainable design principles into building designs. The goal for every house and building was always to design to promote the environment. It was important for the company as a whole to address climate emergency and this was done by creating more efficient and sustainable buildings. Many of the projects I worked on during my time there were also modeled for energy consumption and production, as well as always designed to embrace the natural surrounding environment. This was done through building orientation, size, slopes, overhangs, materials and more. This work experience was a great lesson and deeper understanding regarding the impact buildings can have on the environment. It taught me that, overall, there are simple solutions that can be done to move in a positive direction within the building industry and the environment.
